New York-based visual artist Tim Snell (, who has contributed mural and mosaics to the 8th Street and Broadway Subway stations, is showing eleven works, including his stunning gouache on paper entitled Voltaire’s Study. Snell is also behind all of the restaurant’s in-house art and designs, including Swifty’s creative menus.

Artists Patucci and Mark Shehan, who have been making art together since meeting in 1970, will also display their works at Swifty’s. In 1988 they founded Mercy Street Studios in Providence, Rhode Island where they continue to create fine art as well as fabricate murals, mosaics and decorative finishes for commercial and residential projects. Tim Snell, Patucci and Mark have often collaborated on commissions, and especially enjoy painting while on travels and vacations together with their families.

Artist in the Front-Room

Artist in the Front-Room

Barn Island Fog image for web sized smaller

We are pleased to have artist Mary Lou Schempf  in the Front-Room at Swifty’s.

“My paintings have always reflected my fascination with the nature and quality of light—how light defines not only the physical space, but also the rich, almost palpable atmosphere of a specific moment in time.  In the process of painting, I work to discover and capture the unique visual and emotional resonance of the simple and quiet views that I love.”

Mary Lou Schempf has lived in the New York metropolitan area since 1981, working as a painter, muralist, and trompe l’oeil artist.

She studied at the Rhode Island School of Design and the Kansas City Art Institute, where she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.

Mary Lou’s paintings are in private collections throughout the United States. She accepts commissions of all kinds. Her commissioned dog portraits reflect her love for animals and capture the personality and spirit of each dog.

Please visit  Mary Lou’s web site to view additional works and to contact the artist.
